Soul Khan - Praying for a River

J57

2013 was a relatively quiet year for Brown Bag All Star Soul Khan, which is exactly why the emcee has decided to drop off his first new single of the calender year before we flip the page. Though his new music has been in hibernation, save for a freestyle and a video or two, Soul is already wide awake and prepping for 2014; the early bird gets the worm! Despite the break, however, Soul Khan shows no signs of rust on Praying For A River. His flow is as textured and raspy as ever and his bars are still intelligent and thought provoking. Manning the boards is the New Yorker’s good buddy and fellow BBAS, J57, whose brisk, soul-sampled beat gives us a preview of what SK has in store for us on his upcoming full-length offering. Be on the lookout for more from Khan as we turn the page to 2014.
