Suburban District ft. Young Scolla & Nickelus F - The Law

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Masta (of DarkChild Productions)
Album:
TBD

Hip-hop’s relationship with The Law hasn’t always been the coziest (to put it lightly), but a listen to Suburban Districts‘s first feature should convince heads to respect their authority. On their latest single, Richmond, Virginia representatives Octavion Xcellence, Fair and Tim Porter enlist a couple of Booth faves for a downright bruising display of lyrical dominance; first to rhyme over DarkChild beatsmith Masta‘s futuristic synth production, Motown fave (and freestyle alum) Young Scolla offers a few words of advice to his less talented peers, and DMV phenom Nickelus F. jumps on board for a braggadocious middle verse. Surrounding them, the headliners drop bars brimming with witty punchlines, polysyllabic rhymes, and even a reference to my favorite ‘70’s yacht-rockers: ”Light pitch black, you can’t see who I really am / In my Midnight Cruiser, bumpin’ that Steely Dan.” Does this dazzling display of mic skills leave you craving more? While The Law isn’t attached to any forthcoming project, those digging it can keep their browsers locked you-know-where for anything and everything Suburban District.
