STS - If I Die Young

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
Ayden & Mario Mejia
Album:
GOLDRush

While most of the new school is focused on swag and stacking currency, Philly MC (by way of ATL) Sugar Tongue Slim continues to prove that new school MCs can, in fact, stand right in line with the vets. The proof is evident whenever he rocks out with his group Money Makin’ Jam Boys. On the solo side of things, though, STS gives us the visuals for If I I Die Young, showcasing just how strong his grind to the top really is, as he knocks out five shows in two days at this year’s SXSW. STS releases his thoughts on living to the fullest in case he perishes while still in his prime and it’s done over by a flip of The Band Perry’s song of the same title. Of course, before it could be stamped with Slim’s golden lyrics, Ayden and Mario Mejia had to put their own Hip Hop spin on it by looping up a heavy guitar riff and spicing up the drums a bit. Sugar Tongue Slim’s GOLDRush is available for free at STSGold.com. Cop that and stay locked to The DJBooth for more.

Update: YouTube has removed If I Die Young, but the song is available for stream.
