Swamburger x Optiks - Black Verse

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Optiks
Album:
Sunshine State of Mind

A Florida-born, Brooklyn-based beatsmith previously heard contributing to joints by Maffew Ragazino (Never Ran, Never Will) and Jon Connor (Gonna Make It), Optiks has linked up with Solillaquists of Sound rhymesayer Swamburger to craft a collaborative set dedicated to their mutual home state. Black Verse, the freshly-released lead single, finds the producer layering a jazzy piano sample over powerful percussion as his partner shares some incisive reflections on racial politics in contemporary America. Like what you’re hearing? More innovative beats and thought-provoking bars await on forthcoming joint album Sunshine State of Mind. The LP currently lacks a drop date but, as always, we’ll keep you supplied with the latest release details.
