Taylor Bennett ft. Lil Herb - Crème Brûlée

Posted 2 years ago
Satchel Stokes

Taylor Bennett may have never attended college, but he certainly knows how to get the people going. He’s already got a knack for making acronyms for the youth of today like GTFUFUN. But Crème Brûlée, a standout record off the Chicago emcee’s new project, is more than just a party anthem. It’s a look at another, darker side of Taylor that many may have missed in his prior releases. Due to the negative light mainstream media has placed on Chicago with deplorable names like Chiraq, it’s become common knowledge that it’s nearly impossible for a large population of the youth to grow up unaffected by the crime in the streets. Today, we get two examples in Taylor Bennett and fellow Chicago emcee, Lil Herb. The disruptive beat from Satchel Stokes also is in line with the perilous nature of the Windy City. To hear more of what Taylor Bennett envisions popular music to sound like, check out the full Mainstream Music project, which is available for stream and download at the Booth.
