The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor EP

Though Teyana Taylor made a momentary return to the Booth’s radar with her May 2011 guest spot on Jada‘s Rock Wit Me, it’s been a long minute since she dropped off a fresh solo feature. Just shy of three years after introducing herself with Google Me, the Star Trak songbird is finally making a move with a new EP single aptly titled “Make Your Move.” As you may have guessed, this cut finds Taylor flirtatiously addressing a man she’s been eyeing for quite some time. Over a currently-unknown beatsmith’s production, an understated yet funky blend of upbeat percussion, bass twangs and sizzling synths, the singer lays her cards on the table, informing the fella in question, “I just can’t deny you tonight.” Guest spitter Wale doesn’t have to be told twice—or once, for that matter; in his scene-setting opening 16, the Maybach Music heavyweight proves more than ready to take that fateful step. So, Booth readers, does Taylor have a hit on her hands? Debate away—and keep it locked for the latest on debut EP The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor, set for release “soon.”
