The Alchemist ft. Action Bronson & RiFF RAFF - Rookies of the Future

Posted 2 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
The Alchemist
Album:
None (Promo Single)

If you’ve checked out any of The Alchemist‘s interviews—including his 2009 tête-à-tête with our own DJ Z—you already know the veteran beatsmith and occasional emcee has got one of the most eccentric (and hilarious) minds in the game. Which makes him the perfect match for Action Bronson and RiFF RAFF, the rising stars who join him on freshly-minted promo cut Rookies of the Future. Alc stays behind the boards this time, layering minor-key piano and guitar loop over a deliberate boom-bap rhythm as his collaborators spit about their favorite topics; Bronson waxes poetic about veal and fine loafers, and RiFF invites listeners to feast their eyes on his “Versace doo-rag.” The latter also contributes a sung hook. Rookies is just a loosie but, rest assured, we’ll keep you informed on all three collaborators’ future endeavors.
