The Doppelgangaz - Hark Back

Album:

Thanks to the buzzworthy efforts of Joey BadA$$ and like minded revivalists, more and more NYC natives are starting to Hark Back to the glory days of boom-bap in their music. Few, however have channeled that classic East Coast sound in as dark and grimy a fashion as The Doppelgangaz do on the lead single off their next full-length. The rapper/producer duo’s first feature since September’s Whole Wide World (Remix), the record finds Matter ov Fact and EP delivering cold-blooded verses over their own crisp percussion, throbbing bassline and ambient samples. Complete with an eerie official video directed by The Doppelgangaz themselves, this cut is just one of many bangers to be found on forthcoming studio album HARK. Watch for the project to hit record stores and online retailers March 12, via the group’s Groggy Pack Entertainment label.
