The Militia ft. The Legion - How Many

Album:

How Many times in your life do you get to hear a beatsmith hailing from Johannesburg collide with a crew of mid-90’s East Coast vets on one scorching single? To answer my own rhetorical question, not many—like the Transit of Venus or an intelligent Waka Flocka verse, it’s a phenomenon you’re lucky to experience just once. Which is why we in the Booth couldn’t be more proud to bring you the world premiere of South African beatsmith The Militia‘s latest EP single. Here, the headliner’s boom-bap boardwork, replete with grimy guitar loops and old-school cuts, sets a fittingly retro mood for verses by The Legion—yes, that’s the same Legion who hooked up with Black Sheep on Jingle Jangle, and whose Theme + Echo = Kril LP was the sole album released on Dres and Mista Lawnge’s One Love imprint. For more globally-minded bangers featuring a formidable lineup of rap’s best and brightest (including Skyzoo, Statik Selektah, Rome Clientel and more), check out The Militia’s Booth-sponsored Timeless Classic LP, scheduled to hit our front page September 25, for streaming and download.
