With his new, DJBooth-hosted EP less than 24 hours from release, buzzmaking beatsmith The Militia has stepped into the Booth with one final world premiere off the project. Like its predecessors, How Many and project title track Timeless Classic, Street Legend finds the South Africa-based producer blending hip-hop’s past and present with an aim to create something for the ages. Over the headliner’s boom-bap grooves and dreamy soul loops, Jersey born-and-raised rhymesayer Mo the General chronicles his quest to win money, power and respect on the block. DJ Xrated of The Snowgoons injects some extra old-school ambiance on the chorus, interweaving snippets of classic cuts by Mobb Deep, Biggie and other rap icons. Like what you’re hearing?
