No Business Like Show Business

One of the most powerful co-signs in hip-hop is that of Mannie Fresh, who, in addition to playing a integral role in building the Cash Money empire, produced several of T.I.‘s “heavyweight breakout” singles (Front Back, Top Back, Big Things Poppin’).  Now using his powers to help other previously-unknown MCs and producers, he’s launched his own Chubby Boy Productions label imprint, and signed The Show as flagship artist. Though the New Orleans native is primarily a lyrical artist, he took Mannie’s advice and simply had a good time writing his first official single—thus, I Does was born.  Though the track finds Show spitting the “simplest lyrics [he]could write,” listeners will still be able to find plenty of gems throughout.  Freshley Snipes contributes a memorable middle verse, but the obvious highlight comes courtesy of Chubby Boy protégé Bass Heavy, who lives up to his name on the production tip.  For more feel-good jams and tracks displaying The Show’s full lyrical capabilities, keep your eyes open for No Business Like Show Business, dropping this fall.
