If you can remember using Windows 95 then I think it’s safe to say that those brain exercise games you downloaded to your phone are actually working because ‘95 seems like eons ago. While DJBooth veteran and Providence emcee Theo Martins has been absent from our pages since last year, the emcee is finally back at it with help from Brooklynati crew Tanya Morgan on his new single Windows 95. Although the single might not take you back to the mid-90’s, Windows 95 does have a smooth, throwback feel thanks to longtime collaborator $port‘s sample-driven production. With the two-step worthy production on the song and Theo and Tanya Morgan’s upbeat lyricism Windows 95 is a prime example of what a hip-hop, feel-good record should sound like. Look for Windows 95 on Theo’s proper debut album Wonderland, which will be released in the near future.
