Theophilus London - Strange Love

Posted 5 years ago
Producer:
Ariel Rechtshaid
Album:
Lovers Holiday EP

If you haven’t jumped on the Theophilus London: Crazy Music bandwagon, let me catch you up on what’s been happening recently. Last year, both his Humdrum Town and Ain’t No Sunshine remake were in my headphones constantly and drew in a crowd of followers almost as eclectic as London. Then, earlier this year, he represented himself through the Lovers Holiday EP, the standout cut being Strange Love. With production work from Ariel Rechtshaid reminiscent of a mixture between The Breakfast Club and Weird Science soundtracks, London had his work cut out for him to deliver even more original vocals. While the cut isn’t as heavy or lyrically mesmerizing as some of his previous singles, the song’s presentation itself clearly reflects the personality of a unique individual that managed to push himself past hip-hop boundaries in today’s game. If you loved what this strange noise is delivering, be sure to take a Lovers Holiday of your own and keep a lookout for more from Theophilus in the future here at your local DJBooth.net.
