TP Is My Hero EP

Readers may not recognize Booth newcomer TP (unless you’re a big Tar Heels fan – he was #14) but if the North Carolina native has anything to say about it, it won’t be long before are hailing him as a hip-hop hero.  Well aware you’ve Gotta Work to earn that kind of admiration, the Raleigh emcee assures listeners of his work ethic on this newly-leaked cut. Khrysis handles production duties, serving up an understated percussion groove supported with mellow piano chords as the emcee affirms his dedication to the hustle in a witty and allusive verse. Further proving that work and play – especially wordplay – are a natural combo, fellow First in Flight State natives King Mez and HaLo drop guest verses liberally seasoned with pop-referential punchlines, and singer Heather Victoria rounds out the lineup, tying the record together with some breezy chorus vocals. Does this laid-back but determined banger leave you craving more? Your wish will be granted March 22, when TP’s Booth-hosted TP Is My Hero EP hits our mixtape page for free streaming and download.
