Travie McCoy ft. Brendon Urie - Keep On Keeping On

Posted 2 years ago
Butch Walker, Needlz
None (Promo Single)

Travie McCoy wasn’t always the debonair hip-pop hitmaker he is today. Far from it, in fact. On Keep On Keepin’ On, the Gym Class Hero‘s latest promo cut, we get a lyrical portrait of the artist as a young man: a “chubby, fugly awkward walker” who’s “not much of a talker,” hails from a broken home and lacks the financial advantages of his peers. Over Butch Walker and Needlz‘s lush, keyboard-led beat, the artist recounts how, through hard work and perseverance, he turned that inauspicious beginning into the foundation of a musical success story. Brendon Urie of pop-punk outfit Panic! At the Disco delivers an uplifting vocal hook, and director Mark Stambauch ties the package together with some high-energy visuals. This joint isn’t attached to a larger set, but those left craving more can always check out the artist’s last feature, September’s Rough Water.
