Trek Life - Ready to Live

Everything Changes Nothing

Is it just me, or is there a deep, philosophical vibe in the Booth today? On Big K.R.I.T.‘s If I Should Die, the Mississippi native explained that, though he’s got plenty more to do, he’s secure enough in his faith to die happy whenever the Lord decides to take him. Ready to Live, the latest offering from Trek Life finds the West Coast up-and-comer who brought us As the World Turns tackling the same lyrical ground from a slightly different vantage point. Backed by the unique piano-synth-string production of DMV-based rapper/beatsmith Oddisee, the emcee offers his own thoughts on life, the universe and everything. In addition to expressing his gratitude for the people (his baby girl) and things (new kicks, summer breezes) that make every day better than the last, he emphasizes the importance of planting seeds for the future. Ultimately, he concludes that “...life is exactly what you make it.” Wise words – if you find yourself nodding along in agreement (or to the beat), you’re sure to find more to your liking on Trek Life’s Everything Changed Nothing LP, out now online.
