Trek Life - What It Is (Apollo Brown Remix)

Posted 5 years ago
Producer:
Apollo Brown
Album:
Wouldn't Change Nothing

The first release from Trek Life‘s remix project is the Apollo Brown reworked What It Is, a cut that unabashedly shouts out those whom the west coast wordsmith feels worthy of calling L.A. home, while making sure that those who aren’t named are clear about what level they exist on. Brown’s beat adds a nice screw-face worthy element to the song, dropping fragments of symphonic music to drive the track. The unapologetic anthem-like song proves once again why Cali is a place worthy of hipster and head recognition. For every Lil B, and subsequent knock-offs that hail from the Golden State, thank the hip-hop gods for artists like Trek Life who continue with the essence. For more from Trek be sure to check out Wouldn’t Change Nothing, a remix album of his his Everything Changed Nothing release, due to drop on July 12.
