Trife Diesel ft. B.o.B. & Inspectah Deck - Speed Of Life

Tapmasters Inc Presents: The Project Pope Mixtape

Whenever the topic of “haters” comes up in a Booth-exclusive interview, DJ Z will without fail say something like, “If you’re being hated on, you must be doing something right.”  And it’s true, both because there’s no such thing as bad publicity and because online hate is killer material for a record (by the way, if anyone’s interested in interning as my hater, feel free to pass along a résumé).  On his first Booth feature, Ghostface protégé Trife Diesel (aka Trife Da God) becomes the latest emcee to spin negativity into hip-hop gold, letting his doubters know their criticisms will inevitably roll off his back—no matter what they say, he’ll just keep “...livin’ at the Speed of Life.” Fittingly, Haterz Everywhere emcee Bobby Ray Simmons’ B.o.B persona does double-duty here—in addition to providing a midtempo string-and-synth beat, he steps up to the mix for a sung hook between Trife and Wu-Tang emcee Inspektah Deck‘s hard-hitting verses.  A solid addition to the “motivational jam/hater-blocking” subgenre (we might need a tag for that), Speed of Life is set for inclusion on Trife’s Project Pope mixtape (due out next Tuesday, the 30th).  If you like what you’re hearing, keep it locked to our front page throughout the summer; Trife is set to step into the Booth for an exclusive freestyle.
