Virginia has a strong footing in urban music as the home to producers Timbaland, Missy Elliot and the Neptunes, as well as singers Trey Songz and Chris Brown.  The newest talent to emerge from the Old Dominion is Tyra B (not to be confused with the Top Model talk show host), whose independent single Still In Love got national airplay in the spring of ‘06.  Now signed to Warner Bros., Tyra’s debut single, Givin’ Me A Rush, offers a heavy dose of Aaliyah‘s silky vocal passion (One In A Million) with Rock The Boat-esque production from Prettyboy & Bradd.  When old school sounds and new school appeal are combined, it usually results in huge listenership. Tyra’s debut album, Past Due, will be released next year.
