There’s a very short list of musicians who are richer than Jay-Z. (Sit down Diddy, you’re not on it.) But as big as Shawn Carter has become, his fame still pales in comparison with the musical juggernaut that is U2. The lads from Ireland are, in fact, so epically huge that when they invited Jay-Z to open for them on tour Hova eagerly accepted. During their global tour last year they would regularly invite Jay to collab with them on their mega hit Sunday Bloody Sunday, a high quality live recording of which has now made its way to our pages. ‘80s babies will instantly recognize that trademark guitar riff and Bono’s revolutionary vocals while Jay jumps in on the back end with one of his most openly political verses yet, complete with dead prez and Bob Marley quotes and references to the Iranian elections and the genocide in Rwanada.  While I’ll let DJBooth Nation debate the track’s dopeness below, there’s no doubting that we’re listening to musical history - history you’ll be able to hear more of when U2 releases its upcoming, limited edition album, U2: Duals LP, soon.
