Theme Music To Life

It’s probably a good thing that relatively few make good on their preschool-era ambitions, if only because a society made up predominantly of princesses, astronauts, Presidents, and athletes wouldn’t function very well (Personally, I wanted to be a rock star/Power Ranger/writer, but one out of three ain’t bad!).  On the other hand, it’s important to preserve a little bit of that reach-for-the-stars enthusiasm as one grows older—as Glide emcee Vaig puts it on this new single (making its exclusive world premiere right here in the Booth!), you’ve Gotta Have a Dream.  Dedicated to all those grinding in the 412 and beyond, this track finds the Pittsburgh rapper explaining just what it is that drives him ever onward in spite of the hardships and struggles.  Wisebeatz‘s instrumental, sampled and Chipmunk-ized from Peter Brown’s Stargazer has a slightly chaotic feel, but its pure, orchestral bombast makes perfect sense alongside Vaig’s impassioned rhymes.  This motivational cut will be music to the ears of all who still hold childhood dreams close to their hearts, and those listeners are sure to find plenty more Theme Music to Life on the rapper’s latest LP (due out this fall).
