Voli ft. J. Cole - Sound of Love

Producer:
J. Cole and Voli
Album:
The Wall

Romance is in the air, Booth readers—can you hear it? (If not, then hitting “play” might help.) The follow-up to late May’s Guns N Roses, a heartbroken jam which saw the rapper/producer welcoming rock elements into his production style, The Sound of Love continues in that joint’s genre-blending, romantically-precoccupied vein. Rather than post-breakup angst, however, this joint has lust as its primary theme. The Jersey repper looks to the indie world for inspiration on the production tip, noising up a sample from Husky Rescue’s record of the same title with distorted guitar riffs, thumping percussion, and even some live strings. Over that high-energy backdrop, the headliner lets his erotic imagination run wild, attacking the mic with breathless intensity as he details his latest tryst, and delivering an impressive sung hook to boot. Hip-hop megastar and longtime friend J. Cole guests on the middle, offering some suave flows to complement the headliner’s all-out approach. Has this unconventional bedroom burner piqued your interest? Then don’t miss the rest of the dope material in store on Voli’s The Wall LP, scheduled for release this summer.
