Glorification of Gangster Soundtrack

Simply going by the name, Tommy Gun City might not sound like a nice place to settle down and raise a family, but first impressions can be… in this case, completely accurate. The metropolis described by Voli on leak numero quatre off the forthcoming Glorification of Gangster (see also Jon Connor’s The Heist) is a wretched hive of scum and villainy, comparable to an even more treacherous version of mob-era Vegas. As usual, the Jersey repper (and freestyle series alum) does double duty on the mic and behind the boards, hooking up with guitarist Gavidia to create a squalling rock backdrop (complete with a few near-subliminal samples from classic gangster films) for his stone-cold evocations of organized crime: “Spaghetti dinners with bosses, we get to business, I talk ‘em into submission, extort ‘em, they try to switch and I off ‘em.” By way of insight into the criminal mindset, he poses the incisive rhetorical question, “Would you rather be loved or feared?” For more entertaining and edifying tunes exploring the glamour of the thug life, check out artist Alex Haldi‘s Glorification of Gangster soundtrack, set to hit the ‘net soon.
