In April 2011, we featured a cover of Drake’s hit Find Your Love courtesy of Vonnegut, Outasight and Will Pugh of the pop/indie rock group Cartel. Since the refreshing, breezy cover was well received by the DJBooth audience it makes perfect sense that 19 months later, Pugh and Vonnegutt have teamed up again to bring us an original record. Knock, which will be found on Vonnegutt’s forthcoming album, plays host to the genre bending style of the hip-rock band, lead by frontman/rapper Kyle Lucas. Pugh covers the hook, providing his usual infectious vocals, which make this song a crossover in ever sense of the word. Vonnegutt’s new album, Falling Up The Stairs, is set for release next week, but in the meantime feel free to take a listen the group’s last feature What A Job.
