Two years ago (2009 for those with math troubles) we saw one of the hottest summers when it comes to hip-hop mixtapes. Two of the biggest (and my personal favorites) mixtapes that summer were J. Cole’s The Warm Up and Wale’s Back to the Feature. The first collaborative effort between the two young emcees came a year later when they gave us Beautiful Bliss, off Wale’s debut album Attention: Deficit.  Keeping that formula going, Wale decided to let loose the first leak from his sophomore album Ambition, which is currently unscheduled but will be his first release on Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group. Produced by Cole himself, Bad Girls Club blends elements of rap, synth club music and a pretty infectious hook by Cole. Trading verses, Wale and Cole discuss the type of girls they are on the hunt for. Well maybe not “hunt”, but pursue nonetheless. Overall, the two rappers come together for another record that will make my weekend playlist - will it make yours?
