Tone P (of Best Kept Secret)
Album:
TBD

As one of the top lyricists in the game with significant crossover appeal, Wale has obviously decided that 2011 should start out with a hit, and with his potential new single, the appropriately cool Let’s Chill, Mr. Folarin may have just that. Featuring the radio-friendly Lloyd, Chill finds the duo relaying an important message to all the ladies, “I just want to make love to your mind.” (Could it be that Lloyd listens to dead prez?) Whatever the case may be, in addition to the usual sugary sweet sentiments, Wale adds a couple of one-liners to hold hip-hop heads over: “My affinity’s infinity/ Put that on everything, these other bitches anything” and “I’m on some 40 days and night sh*t/ Feeling like its Ramadan and I just need a bite quick.” Combine that vocal groundwork with production from Tone P - via one of the hottest beatmaking groups Best Kept Secret - that sounds tailor made for a hot video and the DMV emcee seems aimed at a very successful 2011, which will likely include his as-yet untitled sophomore album. (But seriously, is Let’s Get Free in Lloyd’s iTunes?)
