Wale x J.Cole - Winter Schemes

Posted 3 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Jake One
Album:
None (Promo Single)

Regardless of which album was your favorite of the season, you have to acknowledge the impact that both J. Cole and Wale have had on this action-packed summer of hip-hop. Despite heads’ efforts to pit their respective LPs against each other, the two blazing-hot emcees have joined forces to stake their claim on another, colder season with new promo single Winter Schemes. If you aren’t excited to hear the two on the same cut, perhaps the presence of Jake One, the creator of the soulful, stretched sample-driven beat, will seal the deal. First to flow over his crisp production, Cole grabs listeners’ attention with a precise, demonstrative flow. Wale takes over on the back, exhibiting a unique, almost stream-of-consciousness approach in his closing 16. Who had the better verse? Might as well ask a mother which child is her favorite.
