Warm Brew - Willing to Ride

Warm Brew EP

Though Booth newcomers Warm Brew were evidently thinking of beer when they chose their collective stage name (judging by the crushed-can wallpaper on their Tumblr), their sound brings to mind the caffeinated kind – cool and laid-back yet pulsing with energy, their latest single would sound right at home pumping through the speakers of your trendy neighborhood coffee joint. Which reminds me, I need another cup. Anyway, Willing to Ride finds Sam Wilkes cooking up a uniquely head-noddable, blues-inflected beat as crewmates Espy, Serk Spliff, Baby Boy Manu Li and Ray Wright kick it in the sauna with a few beautiful ladies. No, I have no clue why they’re in a sauna – the point is, these females are down for just about anything, and they’re not letting little things like political views (“McCain or Obama”?) or choice of whip (“Bentley or Honda”?) keep them from having a good time. Digging this foursome’s left-of-center style? More refreshing tunes are just around the corner; Warm Brew’s self-titled, Booth-hosted EP is set to hit our mixtape section next month.
