Wiz Khalifa - Promises

With the release of his fifth studio album just around the corner, Wiz Khalifa is liberating fresh singles left and right. Precisely one week after the reader-approved Stayin’ Out All Night comes Promises, another foray into pure pop territory. Here, an ethereal synth instrumental by superproducer Jim Jonsin (and several co-producers) sets the stage for gentle, sung verses dedicated to a special girl in the artist’s life. While Wiz does throw in a few flowed bars for his more rap-oriented fans, the overall focus is on texture and radio-ready melody. For this smooth ballad and much more, cop Blacc Hollywood when it hits record stores and online retailers August 19.

UPDATE: We’ve added the new Gerard Victor-directed visuals for Wiz’ Promises single.
