Woody - Flight

Though Woody‘s forthcoming beat tape takes its name from a certain member of the citrus family, listeners shouldn’t get it twisted—the Harlem-based artist and producer hasn’t restricted himself to a single musical “flavor” for the DJBooth-sponsored project. The second and final Booth-featured song release off the set, Flight bears little in common with the reader-approved Fell save for the beatsmith’s trademark freshness and creativity. Where its predecessor relied more on atmosphere and texture than melody and harmony, this instrumental, centered around a sun-kissed string/piano groove which subtly shifts shape as the record progresses, is soulfully catchy to its core. Now that you’ve gotten a taste of what Woody has to offer, are you hungry for more LIMES? You’ll get what you’re craving September 5, when the set arrives on our front page for free streaming and download.
