None (Promo Single)

Last Friday, Kansas City beatsmith The Awesome Sound celebrated his 22nd birthday. XV, the producer’s cousin and frequent collaborator, didn’t want listeners to be left out of the festivities. Thus, he commemorated the occasion by releasing their latest joint effort, Everyday Life, as a free promotional single. On this pensive cut, TAS’ melancholy keyboard loops, loping percussion and subdued vocal samples set the mood as Vizzy chronicles the quotidian struggles and stresses of an artist on the come-up. Feeling it? This joint isn’t attached to any forthcoming project, but those feeling it can keep their browsers locked to The DJBooth for more from both collaborators—including all the latest on XV’s long-awaited debut album, The Kid With the Green Backpack. In the meantime, those who haven’t already should be sure to check out the Squarian emcee’s guest contribution to Falling Star, the recently-featured single from Connecticut spitter Sikai.
