Yancey Boys ft. Slum Village - Global Warming

Posted one year ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Young RJ
Album:
None (Promo Single)

Last year, the Yancey Boys made their independent debut with Sunset Blvd., a project which saw the duo rhyming over previously-unreleased beats from J. Dilla‘s vault. Though they branch out on their latest single, loosie Global Warming, the spirit of the late production great still presides over their style and sound. In fact, the record finds Illa J. reconnecting with the surviving members of Dilla’s old crew, Slum Village. Young RJ mans the mixing boards, layering strings loops over a head-noddable break as Illa and Frank Yancey trade gritty verses with T3. This record isn’t attached to a larger project but, rest assured, we’ll keep you posted on the Yancey Boys as we learn more about their plans.
