First, I want to thank the lovely lady who sang background vocals on this track. We were unable to procure her identity, but this anonymous songstress’ contributions are imperative to the vibe of Yo Gotti’s latest track, Cocaine Musik. Smooth and warm like a nice glass of Hennessey, this A-team produced cut sounds like a rap rendition of the meeting of the five families; hip-hop’s top hustlers-turnt-rappers (sans Jay-Z) show up for this cut off of the Memphis native’s latest as Jeezy, Rick Ross, and both members of the Clipse rhyme about that white stuff that makes you feel so good, and so bad. While he may not be the most lyrically potent, Gotti’s drug dealing counterparts are able to front him some fish scale type bars. Ross and Jeezy weave back-to-back tales of the hustler lifestyle excellently, but it is a give and go courtesy of the brothers Thornton that really “blows” this one out of the water. I’m digging this one and if you are too, make sure to cop the DJ Drama & Dj Whoo Kid assisted Cocaine Musik 4.5, available online now!
