Yo Gotti ft. Chris Echols - Lay It Down

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
The Maven Boys and Megaman

Last heard lending his flow to the remix of August Alsina‘s Numb, Yo Gotti returns to kick-start his 2014 with an unreleased jam that didn’t make it onto his sixth studio album. Whatever the reason for the cut’s exclusion, it clearly wasn’t left off for lack of quality; not only is Lay It Down a dope record, but it offers some serious insight into what makes the Tennessee rhymesayer tick. Over The Maven Boys and Megaman‘s pensive synth-sample beat, Gotti looks back on two situations in which he wasn’t there to protect the people close to him from the depredations of fellow hustlers. He ends verse two with an ominous message to those who have crossed him and his circle: “Remember what goes around, comes around.” Booth newcomer Chris Echols handles the hook. Craving more from Yo Gotti? Those who haven’t already can cop I Am now wherever fine music is sold. Otherwise, sit tight and stay tuned to the Booth for further details on his 2014 plans.
