Young Jeezy ft. Andre 3000 & Jay-Z - I Do

Posted 4 years ago

Despite the seemingly endless delays that have led up to the release of his senior set, Young Jeezy‘s kept what is arguably the project’s most explosive tracks firmly under his fitted cap. Now, with the set’s arrival one short month away, the Corporate Thug unleashes standout cut I Do (Why it isn’t a single selection, I haven’t the foggiest.) upon the game. On this soulfully sweeping banger, M16 flips a swirling string sample from Lenny Williams’ Cause I Love You (famously flipped in Twista‘s Overnight Celebrity, as well as Scarface‘s Girl You Know) as Jeezy, Jay-Z and Andre 3000 pledge to love and cherish the hustle as long as they both shall live, till death do they part. With two of the game’s most respected lyricists rocking the mic, choosing a best verse is going to be tough; do you prefer Hova’s deadpan double-entendres on verse two, or 3 Stacks’ eccentrically fresh flows on the back? Or is Jeezy’s own gruff opener the highlight? Debate away, Booth readers—and don’t forget to pick up your own copy of Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition when it (finally!) hits stores shelves and online retailers on December 20.
