Young Jeezy - Shake Life

Producer:
Lil' Lody
Album:
TM103

Young Jeezy’s TM103 has joined Game’s The R.E.D. Album and Dre’s Detox on the ever-growing list of albums I’m starting to suspect will never drop, but nothing gets your project moved from the studio to store shelves faster than a hit single. Could new release Shake Life be that single for Jizzle? Life’s production comes from Lil Lody, the same man who did Jeezy’s last single, but where Ballin’ swaggered Life rides, coasting along on piano and guitar driven beat that’s instant inspiration. While we’re not talking One Mic here, Jeezy does get a little more personal on the mic, leveling out his trademark trap talk with admissions of vulnerability – “I smoke to suppress my pain” - and even, yes, some political commentary. (For the record, Jeezy thinks the war in Libya is a waste of money.) Will this be the hit that convinces the CTE/Def Jam/IDJMG label heads to roll the dice and give TM103 a release date? That’s depends in part on the ratings it gets from DJBooth Nation – get to work people.
