Youth Is DEAD - Smoke in the Water

Update: The Youth is DEAD and Olivia Seally-directed visuals for Smoke in the Water have been added.

If you’re anything like me, you read the title of Youth Is DEAD‘s latest feature and wondered why the unflappably chill NYC buzzmaker had chosen to cover that Deep Purple joint everyone learns to play at their first guitar lesson. Turns out, I had my prepositions twisted; on this mixtape inclusion, the Smoke is in, not on the Water. A.CHAL handles production duties on this slow-burning jam, crafting a headphone-worthy synth backdrop to back the artist as he vents his frustration with a woman who’s been stringing him along. Fans will be able to find Smoke, the previously-featured Lovers on the Moon and more on Youth’s Hooligans Don’t Dance street album, out now.
