Zak Downtown - Yellow Diamonds

It really isn’t a Wednesday unless you have a banging electro-meets-trap record to sweep away your midweek blues.  Thankfully, on this Wednesday, Zak Downtown provides us with this perfect remedy on his latest Always Down August series premiere.  For Yellow Diamonds the New York City native jumps on board the track with a swagged out confidence that’s ever-present in his lyrical stylings, flaunting his braggadocious, “love em and leave ‘em” finesse as he raps. If you think your ears have spotted a certain pop record in the song’s lively production then you would be correct. Yellow Diamonds producer Yung Felix does in fact sample Rihanna’s We Found Love on his electro-heavy beat. Yellow Diamonds, the second entry in Downtown’s Always Down August series, will ultimately be featured on the artist’s Always Down Vol. 1 mixtape, set for release on August 29, via DJBooth.
