Today Pioneer are announcing two more headphones to their studio monitor range, the HRM-5 and the HRM-6. They are an addition to the currently available HRM-7 which was the first of the new studio monitor headphone range. They both pack a new 40 mm driver, with a frequency range up to 40 KHz. The other cool thing about this studio is how much it has become a thing in Toronto, it has become a space for the producers in Toronto to hone their craft.
Pioneer just released the DVS pack for Rekordbox DJ in their latest update. It would have been all gravy if it wasn’t for something that Pioneer does a lot and that is charging $99 for an update. That is right, it will cost an additional $99 on top of the $129 you probably had to pay to get Rekorbox DJ if you want DVS capability.
Time for another Serato Vinyl Collab, this time with the Crew Love. This is a collective of about 17 members, most of which reside in NYC. Checking out some of the names in the press release, I recognized some of the smaller groups and members like Soul Clap. This vinyl consists of their album which is about 9 tracks and Serato DVS noisemap as well.
Stems update, active. That was just an attempt at telling you that Native instruments has a new Traktor update. And this time its a pretty cool update. This update is version 2.10.1, and it extends control of the stems format to all users that have TRAKTOR. Yes, now you can see stem tracks and the stems on the Traktor Software with the latest update.
Ableton Live 9.6 has recently been released, and a nice feature that was announced earlier has finally arrived. I am talking about Link. For those that do not know what it is: “It’s a technology that lets you play electronic instruments together effortlessly. Link synchronizes beat, phase and tempo of Live and Link-enabled iOS apps over a wireless or ethernet connection, which means you can use it to play together with others and make music using a range of devices.”

For the last 2 years, Pioneer has upgraded and brought new gear to their headphone lines in the form of the HDJ-2000 MK2, the HDJ-C70 and the HRM-7. As an experienced DJ company, Pioneer understands that even though they aim to build very robust headphones, time passes and some of the materials will take a beating as that is what DJ's do their gear. Native Instruments has again provided the producers of the world with a new virtual unique piano: UNA CORDA. It is based on a 64-key upright piano. It mentions that unlike standard pianos, who use more than one string per key, this piano is unusual in that it has just one string per key.

Browsing the internet sphere this Thursday, I stumbled on what is being claimed to be a legit leak on a MK2 version on the Pioneer DJM 900. The 900 first came out about 5 years ago, and has become a staple in the DJ booth. It came Traktor certified, then a Serato certified version came out. So yeah, it was Pioneer making sure their mixer would be the go to choice in the DJ booth.

Hercules, the DJ controller manufacturer has announced a partnership with DJ Scratch Academy. This is an interesting development. The school will use the new Hercules JogVision DJ controllers which work with Serato DJ and have really responsive Jog Wheels that also have LED rings in the center which show DJ's the current track needle position and other useful information.
The Serato Team is steadily releasing new Control Vinyl in brand new colors and styles for collectors and DJ's. This time, it is the Control Vinyl Country Series. It comes in three flavors: Spanish Vinyl, Japan Vinyl and UK vinyl. Only 500 pairs of each have been pressed and will be available worldwide so don't delay and grab yours.
