Most people probably know Shy Glizzy from "Awwsome," his viral banger that's become a staple of club playlists and has even attracted some pretty heavyweight co-signs. But while unapologetic awesomeness is certainly a part of the DMV rapper's style, he's also capable of music with a kind of depth and seriousness that many aren't aware of.
Case in point, his gospel-infused cut "Funeral." For the latest in our "Inside the Verse" series, Glizzy sits down to talk about how the track came from all the losses he's experienced, including his father passing away at a very young age. As he says, "All my words, they really true. They genuinely come from the heart."
