Back in early December, Yoh asked our readers how they would feel if Frank Ocean were to never release another album. It had been more than two years since Ocean's GRAMMY-winning debut, Channel Orange, was released and understandably music editors and fans alike were getting restless.
Fast forward four months, following huge album releases from A-list artists like J.Cole, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, and it appear that we no longer have to wonder, "what if?" On Monday, Billboard confirmed that Ocean will release a new full-length LP this July.
According to an Ocean rep, the album will be accompanied by two publications entitled Boys Don't Cry. Hashtags #ISSUE1, #ALBUM3 and #JULY2015 can be found posted to Ocean's website, adding further to the intrigue surrounding his dual release.

We talk to the Surf Gang artist about microdosing alternative music in his raps.
While further details surrounding the much-anticipated project are scarce, it would certainly make sense from a marketing and branding perspective to have both the magazines and the album share the same title. Then again, nothing about the music industry in 2015 seems to make sense or follow established patterns. We'll just have to patiently wait and see. Either way, it's good to see Ocean (hopefully) back soon. Fingers crossed.
