Lil Wayne Says Drake & Nicki Minaj Trying to Leave Cash Money

Weezy claims Birdman mismanaged Drake & Nicki, says the two superstars want to leave Cash Money.

It was all good just a week year ago...

According to Lil Wayne himself, who has filed new documents in his much publicized lawsuit against Cash Money, Drake and Nicki Minaj are also fed up with Birdman and his allegedly shady business practices, and will also be attempting to leave the label (via TMZ).

The Wayne/Cash Money Records saga is well documented, as Weezy has repeatedly reinforced his desire to leave the label and is still seeking $51 million in damages - also roughly the number of people not fully compensated by the label for their work over the years. While we've known that things have been so far gone (pun intended) for Wayne and Birdman's relationship, the biggest question since has been what the future holds for YMCMB and the company's two remaining superstars.

The Miami-bred artist is a Trojan horse in today's underground rap landscape.

While Weezy's been in all-out attack mode, Drizzy and Nicki have remained relatively quiet as it relates to their respective futures with the label, though Drake alluded to the situation on his IYRTITLand Minaj said late last year that "no matter what, [they're] a family." Well, sometimes divorce is inevitable, and then it becomes an issue of who takes what side. In that same interview, Nicki also said that she's going to "ride with Wayne," which now acts as sort of a foreshadowing to today's developments.

For many, this news confirms the suspicion that many have had, that Drake and Nicki Minaj will eventually join Lil Wayne and enter their post-Cash Money careers as artists. Exactly when this might happen remains to be seen, but what's clear is that Birdman's mismanagement has left more than a sour taste in the mouths of his three biggest cash-earners, and even after years of collective success, any relationship between Baby and his flagship artists may be beyond repair at this point.

Oh, and in other news, Tyga is trying to leave, too. So there's that.
