It's about that time again, when summer winds down and the music industry comes together for one night to celebrate the time-honored tradition of music videos... that are only played on the internet. That's right, MTV's 2015 Video Music Awards go live at 9pm ET on Sunday, August 30 from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater, and today we get an early look at this year's nominees.

Miley Cyrus is set to host, though let's all pray that Robin Thicke will not be joining her on stage for a reunion of the waking nightmare that was their 2013 performance.

All the usual suspects appear here, with your Taylor Swift's, Beyoncé's and Maroon 5's appearing as expected. I'm sure all most hip-hop fans can appreciate Kendrick's 13 (!!!) nominations, especially having his name in the running in two different Video of the Year selections.

Some quick thoughts: Fetty Wap better be bringing home the honors for Artist to Watch, Big Sean better get some love considering his many great videos this year, Rocky's "L$D" did indeed have some pretty damn good editing and I'm officially sick of "Uptown Funk."

My prediction is that while we're pulling for "Alright" to win it all, "Bad Blood" will prevail. "But we gon' be...."

You can head over to MTV right now to cast your votes.
