Boosie Badazz is reporting via Instagram that his cancer surgery today was successful.
The announcement came after two weeks of confusion about the Baton Rouge rapper's health after he first announced that he had cancer but then quickly deleted the post from IG. Today though, we got word that he had indeed been diagnosed and operated on, and that the cancer cells were indeed successfully removed and was accompanied by #cancersurvivor.
Some good news is due for Boosie and his family, who has had a tumultuous few years to say the least. The revelation that he had kidney cancer came after his long-awaited release from prison and it’s good to see him find some peace of mind. I’m sure we’ll be seeing new music soon.
Congratulations Boosie, our best to your family and everyone else who's fought cancer. If any good comes from this, hopefully it will be increased cancer awareness in the hip-hop community. We've seen too many deaths, the world needs more cancer survivors.
