It's a problem any true music nerd faces. When someone asks you for your favorite album of the year, you don't want to pick something obvious and mainstream. At the same time though, you don't want to be the hipster at the record store, talking about some obscure band that's only played one show; "You don't know the Snow Fidgets? They're only the greatest indie-thrash-folk-electro-ska band ever."

So all things considered, balancing widespread impact and my own personal enjoyment, I'd have to say Kendrick's TPAB is the best album of the year. But lowkey? Just between us? The album that I've just factually, quantifiably listened to more than any other, the album that's been the soundtrack to my 2015 more than any other? That album is Toro Y Moi's Samantha. Here's why....
