Earlier this month, while our brand new studio was being constructed at our NY offices, we decided to take our booth on the road, renting out Arlyn Studios in Austin, Texas for several days during SXSW.
There we hosted an open studio session with our partners at Audiomack and Tunecore, extending an invitation to a handful of our favorite artists, from top tier names to some of the most buzzworthy up-and-comers, to slide through and record, all while documenting the entire experience.
On the heels of last week's off-the-top "Austin Freestyle" from Philly up-and-comer Tunji Ige, we're thrilled to share with our readers a special offering from DC native and MMG wordsmith Wale. For his "Black Hoodie Freestyle," Wale goes in over surging trap production from Myles Williams and MisterNeek.
Wale recently announced plans to release not one, but two solo albums this year - the first of which will be titled Shine - in addition to taking on Executive Producer duties for the upcoming MMG compilation album, Self Made 4.
