Holy Sh*t You Need to Hear Black Thought Rap on "Making a Murderer"

Black Thought just came through and detonated your favorite rapper's dreams of being the best alive.

One of the unintended benefits of running our new "Holy Shit You Need to Hear This" series is that it's made me appreciate just how much incredible music comes out every week. We really want to hold true to that "Holy Shit" tag - we can't dilute the power of those words. This isn't music that's pretty good, this isn't music that's really good, this is music that kicks a hole in your sternum.

So trust me, I'm not using these words lightly; you need to hear Black Thought black out on this new "Making A Murderer" joint:

I hope it goes without saying that I'm not overlooking 9th's production here. The man's a legend and once again he's pulled off some of his trademark sample magic - all praise due and then some. By the same token much respect to Styles P, the Ghost did his thing. Take away any of those ingredients and you'd have an appetizer, not the full meal that this track is.

5 New Songs You Need to Hear: Best of the Week

Drake, Asake, Kay Flock, Ckay, and FKA twigs delivered the best new songs of the week on Audiomack.

But let's be honest, we only get so many examples of Black Thought just savagely attacking the mic anymore, and I'm not about to let the moment pass without making sure I highlight how Thought just carpet-bombed this track for over two minutes straight:

I said a weapon should be chosen to fire / only the ghetto Beethoven reply / the 9th Wonder maker / thunder breaker, semi auto send these toys to the undertaker / my pen smokin like a rude boy from Jamaica

Name some other body equally as ill / frequently I see the drama call me Cecil B. DeMille / not a chink in the armor I'm lethally for real / people been telling me recently Tariq you need to chill / but picture that / the Diplomat, pistol slap aristocrats / any rapper comin for me I'm gonna send a missile back

I don't know what to tell you, that man can just straight up rap better than almost anyone else alive, and in the spirit of Andre 3000's recent words, I'm going to appreciate each and every track he destroys as long as I'm still breathing and these fingers are still typing. And if my body breaks down, you can catch me praising Black Thought's raps using one of those Stephen Hawking voice box joints. That's how good the man is.

Holy shit, you need to hear this.
