If you're a DJBooth regular you should be familiar with the name Kelechi, as the Atlanta emcee has graced our pages multiple times in the last few months, from detailing the story of how he met J. Cole in hopes of landing a deal to breaking down the $50K budget he used for his latest project, and of course, through new, Booth-approved music.
Today, we're proud to unveil Kelechi's "BeforeTheQuarterDotCom" freestyle, the latest installment in our ongoing Bless The Booth series that includes must-see entries from Nyck Caution, Meyhem Lauren, Sylvan LaCue and Rittz.
Backed by a soulful loop from producer Chris Prythm, the ATL buzzmaker winds his way through nearly two minutes of bars, dropping gems like "invite her over on a summer's eve and she say I'm a douche / 'cause I said my 'D' 12 inches and sent a pic for the Proof."
The freestyle's title is a shameless nod to Kelechi's new project, Before The Quarter, released earlier this month. For more from Kelechi, make sure you check out standout selections "The Glo" with BJ The Chicago Kid and "Spend It," which features some incredible visuals and fellow STNDRD Music rapper Phay.
Make sure to keep it locked (and subscribe to our YouTube channel) for more audio and visual dopeness from Bay legend Mistah F.A.B. and more.
We hope you feel blessed, because following entries from Lil Bibby, Casey Veggies, Stro, Jazz Cartier, Don Mykel and more, we have reached the 30th installment in our Bless The Booth series, presented by TuneCore. For those not up to date, Bless The Booth has taken over for our now completed DJBooth Freestyle Series, which ran on and off for the past six years and included contributions from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Yelawolf, Big K.R.I.T. and more.
From the DJBooth headquarters at #AudiomackStudios, located in the heart of SoHo, NYC, to your laptop or phone (more likely), Bless The Booth brings you exclusive bars from your favorite emcees. Characterized by its off the cuff nature, our Bless The Booth series is the result of artists coming through our office to kick back and have a drink or two while enjoying the comforts of our newly remodeled digs. After cycling through a wide range of beats and achieving the optimal vibe, it's time to head into the booth and hit record.
