Two weeks ago Logic released "Flexicution" and we had no choice but to designate the record as a "Holy Shit You Need To Hear This" selection. A week later he unleashed "Wrist," a collaborative effort with Def Jam labelmate Pusha T, and again we did what we had to do.
The logical (pun intended) next step was a project, right? The writing was on the wall. While we knew the Maryland native was working on two new projects, we didn't expect a surprise, 11-track mixtape. Regardless, that is what Logic has delivered with Bobby Tarantino. Well, assuming you have a subscription to Apple Music, where the project is currently housed as an exclusive.
According to the streaming service, Bobby Tarantino is a "moody yet muscular tape that finds the often introspective Maryland rapper surveying the successes of his 2015 breakthrough, The Incredible True Story." It's release, in advance of Logic's The Endless Summer Tour with fellow headliner G-Eazy and supporting acts YG and Yo Gotti, will assuredly boost future merchandise sales and serve as motivation for fans who recently saw the artist on his "The Incredible True Story" World Tour and only want to see new material performed.
In a message to his fans on Instagram, Logic wrote the following: "This mixtape is for all my fans! I wanted to give you something to have fun with over the summer! So enjoy it. And thank you for not only always supporting me, but for making me the man I am today! Let's all have fun with it!"
For those without an Apple Music subscription, we will be sure to update this page if and when an alternative streaming method becomes available. And yes, we agree, exclusivity and paywalls suck.
