Imaginary Eminem vs. Drake Diss Track Rumored to be Coming

Eminem preparing to diss Drake is a juicy story, but the facts on this one are shakier than Rick Ross' stomach in an earthquake.

Did you hear the rumors?

Well, it's actually just one rumor that's been repeated until it's become rumors, plural. Ebro, of Hot 97 fame, said on air that he had heard rumors that Eminem was preparing to diss Drake, and then he relayed that rumor (which he very well might have just invented) to Drake, and then relayed to his audience what Drake said in reply.

In other words, this story's shakier than a Jello mold on the San Andreas fault. Regardless, here's what Drake supposedly said in response to Eminem's supposed upcoming diss:

“That’s not gonna happen. He’d never do that. And if he did, I got something for him too.” - Drake, maybe

This time around I agree with Drake, this isn't going to happen, Eminem would never do this. Why would he? Em admitted that years ago, during his darkest days, he considered releasing a diss track aimed at Drake, Kanye and Lil Wayne in order to drum up some attention, but he realized that was coming from a place of insecurity and stopped. So years ago he decided it'd look desperate to diss Drake, but now that he's in a vastly better place in his career, it is a good idea?

Of course we all want this to happen, Eminem and Drake going at it would be the closest we've come to a rap internet civil war yet. I'm afraid to even imagine the IG comment battle that will ensue when two of rap's most rabid fan bases turn against each other. If you thought Drizzy fans showing up at Joe Budden's house was bad, wait until Em stans start crashing Drizzy's pool parties in Calabasas.

I, of course, could end up being wrong, in a way I hope I end up being wrong. But for now let's look at this for what it is; Ebro masterfully managing to spin a news cycle worth of attention essentially out of thin air. Well played sir, well played.
